! Attention on deck ! Here's the Plan of the Day !
Bob Bolger conducts muster to get things off in shipshape

At the conclusion of the dedication ceremony for the Vietnam Unit Memorial at the Coronado Naval Amphibious Base, all of the attending Swift Boat sailors were invited over to Bob and Val Bolger's beautiful home in Chula Vista for a reception and informal SBSA reunion. As can be seen by the following images, the Bolger's are fantastic hosts and the event became an excellent occasion to renew old friendships, make new ones and recall the Swift Boat times and Brown Water sailors we had just witnessed being honored at Coronado with the very emotional dedication of the VUM. The dedication was a time for remembrance and pride in all the sailors that sacrificed in Vietnam for their country. And for shedding a few tears. But the reception was a time for renewing our determination that what we accomplished so long ago and far away was very much worthwhile. |
