Gentlemen,
The PCF 816 summer cruise is now scheduled starting June 13, 2016 and lasting until July 8, 2016. There are 11 legs total, going from San Diego up to Santa Barbara and back, with stays in each port and listed below. Please be aware the first date in each leg is the date of sail and the next day, or two, is time in port for educational talks, etc. Please keep this in mind when planning your trip and allow time to arrive the night before so you are ready to board PCF 816 in a timely manner on the morning of your leg.
It is important that we receive your request for the time slot you have chosen by May 1, 2016, so that we have time to ready the final schedule. Please fill in our survey, which includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of leg. We are expecting to have approximately 12 Swifties on each leg so get your requests in as early as possible.
Leg 1 June 13-June 14 MMSD to Oceanside, Del Mar Boat Basin
Leg 2 June 15-June 16 Oceanside to Newport Beach
Leg 3 June 17-June 19 Newport Beach to Catalina
Leg 4 June 20-June 21 Catalina to LA Maritime Museum
Leg 5 June 22-June 23 LA Maritime Museum to Port Hueneme/Oxnard
Leg 6 June 24-26 Port Hueneme/Oxnard to Santa Barbara
Leg 7 June 27-June 29 Santa Barbara to Ventura Maritime Museum
Leg 8 June 30-July 1 Ventura Maritime Museum to Marina Del Rey
Leg 9 July 2-July 4 Marina Del Rey to Long Beach
Leg 10 July 5-July 7 Long Beach to Dana Point
Leg 11 July 8 Dana Point to MMSD
You are responsible for your travel accommodations, including flights, lodging, transportation, food, etc.
In the near future, we will be ready to take orders for t-shirts commemorating the cruise so keep your eyes out for that email as well.
One last request, although the cruise is only for Swift Boat Sailors themselves, all family and friends are welcome to send off PCF 816 from the ports, especially at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. Please consider bringing your family along for this special event.
